[Unknown] Name: Selena Ailias: none Age: 25 Ht: 5'8 Wt: 150 lb Appearance: Pale skin, violet eyes, shoulder length reddish-brown hair and silver framed glasses. Personality: Intelligent, protective, friendly, likes to keep to herself but is always ready for an adventure. She loves knowledge and history for its own sake, and is always trying to figure out how things are connected. Biography: Selena comes from a family of treasure hunters and archeologists. Her parents were historians who were facinated with the lives of dragons, and the three of them traveled around the world uncovering dragon artifacts and relics. Selena's parents amassed quite a collection and kept it in a hidden base in Megalopolis. They were killed in an excavating accident when Selena was 18; since then, she has continued her parent's work, searching for dragon artifacts and trying to learn about their powers and extinction. Selena aquired her power of time manipulation by accident, through contact with a small crystal hourglass on a chain that she found in an unearthed treasure stash. She has only recently returned to Megalopolis after a five year expedition outside the country. Powers/Abilities: Selena has the ability to warp time, either to speed it up or slow it down. Speeding time can increase a person's healing ability or relfexes or cause an object to move faster, whereas slowing down time could slow down an enemy's attack or allow her to dodge out of something's way. Selena can create bubbles or spheres in which time is manipulated, which have a maximun diameter of 30 feet. She also has the ability to make time stop temporarily in a certain area, but it takes an enormous amount of energy and can't be sustained for long. Weaknesses: Time spheres can't be sustained indefinately - they require a good amount of energy. The larger the sphere, the more energy is needed to make it. Selena can't control all of time, just the area inside a sphere. She can't time travel; her powers work only in the moment. In addition, Selena is weak in hand-to-hand combat and prefers to fight defensive, so she can be easily overwhelmed by someone stronger if her powers are low. Weapons/Equipment: Two kasuri-gamas (hand sickles with a retractable chain attached to the handle) for hand-to-hand combat. Selena also carries special clocks with a chargeable crystal in the mechanism that she can use to create a portable time sphere. The more power she puts in the crystal and the more active clocks gathered together, the longer lasting and bigger sphere she can make. The clocks were first developed by her for artifact preservation (slows down decay, and serves as an anti-theft device). |

Generally your character is approved, but with her powers I would prefer to see a more tangible weakness in addition to her stamina weakness. ((One other note, a sickle chain is called a Kasuri-gama as the gama is the chain according to my friend who sells japanese weapons)) |

You guys seen the show 'Deadliest Warrior'? According to the 'Ninja versus Spartan' episode (where the ninja was tragically, brutally and unfairly slaughtered), the Kasuri-gama has the sickle and chain, like you said, but also has a heavy, usually metal, sphere on the other side of the chain, like a flail. Watch the episode above, it helps a ton with the understanding of ninja weapons, if ever used. |

All I did was find a description of a weapon in the Ninja Handbook called a kasuri-kama that was a hand scythe with a detachable flail on the end. Pyro, Nitrox - you should know what I'm talking about. Anyway, the weapon doesn't matter so much, as long as the character is approved (although recent events have not been helping with that...*sigh*) |

Time Sphere - Selena creates a bubble or sphere inside which time is manipulated, either by speeding up or slowing down. Maximum diameter is 200 feet. 2. Time Stop - A special type of sphere in which time is frozen; this sphere requires more energy to create, so the max diameter is only 100 feet. This attack can also be used to create a protective shield around Selena to stop debris, bullets, projectile attacks, ect. 3. Decay Blast - Very compact (basketball-sized) time sphere that speeds up time to the point where anything it hits decays on contact. For example, hitting metal would cause it to rust and crumble, hitting stone turns it to dust, ect. 4. Gravity Manipulation - Selena can direct gravity to pin enemies in place or cause them to float in the air. She can also increase an object’s gravitational attraction, causing objects (and people) to stick together and slam into enemies. 5. Levitation - If needed, Selena can also reduce her own gravity and fly unsupported, but it requires more energy than usual. Weakness: Though Selena’s stamina has greatly improved, it still can be a liability in extended battle. In addition, the crystal hourglass Selena wears is a direct link to her powers; if the hourglass is damaged, her powers are weakened in proportion to the damage done (the hourglass regenerates, but very slowly). Weapons/Equipment: Selena has abandoned her kasuri-gamas in favor of a single full-length scythe with retractable blade. She also has upgraded her clock traps to contain gravity energy, allowing them to act as grenades that pull whatever is nearby into a single clump of objects. Overdrive: At some unknown point, Selena’s hourglass will activate and send a massive surge of energy into Selena, allowing her to bend the fabric of space-time into a black hole tornado. The vortex of energy is capable of destroying anything in its path, but is controlled by Selena (so no utter devastation). The tornado has a lifespan of 10 minutes, after which Selena’s powers are completely drained for a time. ((Should I update the bio to show how Selena gained gravity control?)) |
