Nova had watched Megalopolis and its unusual inhabitants for ages. He had watched the Earth get saved many times, he had watched it get blown apart, conquered, and a few other horrific fates several times.
For the most part Nova is formless, but in this instance he takes the form of a young man, whose hair is made of strands of brilliant orange solar fire. He wears a tight costume similar to that of the White Knight, except it is gold, with bands of armor all over it. His brilliant white eyes, each in reality a small pulsar, glow brilliantly.

In his pocket dimension appear two people standing on a disembodied floor. "Welcome Alexis Theory, or rather Dragonfly." Alexis is dressed in the costume she wore back when she was a hero. "Welcome Nitrox Dragon, or rather Nitrox, I Nova, welcome the both of you to my dimension."

These aren't the clothes I was wearing 2 seconds ago... Alexis thought. And these are definitely not the people I was with. Alexis looked over at Nitrox, then back at Nova. "Not to rush the point, but can I have a general explanation on what's going on, please?"

"I have watched your Earth for several eternities, and less than a millisecond. I have taken a great interest in you metahumans, and I have decided to host a game between you Heroes and Villains, so that I may observe you in my own dimension."

((Hohoho! My opponent surprised me! Well, draco, you made this very interesting.))
"So, basically, you're bored, you wanna pick up a few chess pieces, and you make them fight each other," summarized Nitrox.
"Nice! So, where's the game board? Have we totally vanished or are we still also on earth?" Nitrox was bursting with questions, trying to shove as much information into his brain as possible. "Is there a catch? What happens when this is all over?"

"I am hardly bored. However to answer your questions, in order: You are already on the game board, which is located in a pocket dimension of my own creation that exists between the nexus and normal space, the 'catch' is the winners will decide if the losers get to return to Earth, and likewise the winners will also recieve a prize."

((You're surprised, Nitrox? I figured my opponent was either you or Revan, and you definetly seemed more likely.))

Alexis looked over at Nitrox, but addressed Nova. "So we're fighting each other? What happens if we decide not to participate?"

"I hadn't considered that," Nova says. While the other players are not obligated to participate the both of you are. Should either of you refuse to particiapte all of you will be trapped here forever, in this empty pocket dimension, until you agree to participate." Nova rubs his firey hair and smiles.

"Enough questions, I am eager to see the game begin. We will begin by each of you picking a team of your fellow heros and villain to aid you in battle. Choose wisely because the rules allow for betrayal."

Nova raises his hand and a small orb comes out of his finger tip, and it immediatly goes and hovers over Alexis. "As you have more 'karma' you will be allowed to pick your first teammate before Nitrox. Please choose now."

Alexis grinned. "Lucky me..." Thinking over her choices, Alexis pondered who to pick first. Someone who won't switch sides. I need a hero who won't waver... Oh good grief, I know the perfect person. Let's just hope he won't hold a grudge...

Alexis took a deep breath and stated clearly, "Predator."

((*falls over laughing* Oh I sooooo hope this works out, because Predator and Alexis on the same side will be hilarious!))

"Done," Nova says and in a flash of light Predator appears. "Now Nitrox it is your pick."

Predator's appearance is vaugly familar despite the fact that he is only carrying a dagger, or that his chameleon suit is baggier at the chest and the waist. "What the hell is going on?" He asks through the voice distorter on the mask that covers all but his eyes.

Alexis grinned. "Well, you know how in grade school you'd line up and the team captains would pick players? Congrats, you were my first pick. No hard feelings, right?"

((*snickers* Predator in grade school. Now there's an image...))

((That would be funny))

"Hard feelings, I don't even know who you are or what's going on here," Predator says tilting his hat lower.

((Currently reviewing my choices...))
"Just to bring you up to speed, I haven't really been accepted by my colleagues..." said Nitrox. "Yet, one member that may be interesting to work with..."

"Amaglam."

After another wave from Nova, a puddle splatters onto the floor. It slowly reforms into the humanoid form of Amalgam. "What has happened, where are we?" They say in their digital voice.

"The next pick is yours 'Dragonfly' Alexis." Nova says.

"You have been recruited as a playing piece on a chessboard in an alternate dimension. That's all you really need to know, other than I am bound to play and lead one faction," explained Nitrox to Amaglam. "It's basically an opportunity to beat up on the heroes for no reason at all."

"Aw come on..." Alexis rolled her eyes at the fact that Predator no longer remembered her. "I have seriously had enough of people with memory issues." She turned back to Nova. "Well, if we are going for interesting allies, then my next pick is Rintuk."
