Mira gave the dragon a curious look, tilting her head to the side. Wow... I sure hope that thing isn't hungry...

Max sighed a breath of relief. Well, it didn't attack us straight off the bat... that's a good sign...
"Where are you from?" asked Max. "You've been through something to ask where you are."
((Nitrox has his suspicions on who the dragon is, and he is fairly sure he is correct.))

"Get ready to run if need be," Zanek quietly whispers to Mira.

"Earth," the burnt black dragon recites to itself. He cocks his head toward Max making a chain dangling from his horn rattle. Its faintly red eyes narrow, and immediatly glow bright red. In a surprisingly swift move it pins Max and Magine to the floor under his talons, simultaneously slaming Zanek into the cieling with his long tail.

"Disgusting humans, I Malistyrax, bring the vengenace of the dragon race upon you!" It spits. "Well...brother, are you going to eat the child, or may I?" Malistyrax asks Mhantra looking at Mira.

((Saw that one coming...))

Mira backed up against the wall, shaking her head at the dragon as she tried to use her power to talk to animals to convey at least some sort of message to Malistyrax. No! We're not here to hurt you! Why do you want to attack us? She concentrated on the words as hard as she could, hoping that some of the message would get through.

mhantra steps between mira and malistyrax "let them go they mean us no hard"

Something stirred inside Max. I don't know what this feeling is, maybe I like dragons... Even if he is pinning me to the ground...
"What vengance? Why would you attack us? All anyone's done here is that she helped to bring you here..." Max said, his eyes floating in Mira's direction. "Is that why you'd eat her? Or are you playing tough guy?"

"You filthy betrayer!" Malistyrax roars. He takes a deep breath, and rather than fire, ice, or the many other forms of dragon's breath, Malistyrax propells a black sphere at Mhantra. Upon the impact with Mhantra it explodes, burning through his scales. "Not even you will be spared my wrath for bowing down to these apes!"

"Still sore about the dragon hunt?" Zanek chokes. "You know where men like me hunted all killed all of you disgusting lizards down to the last egg!" With Malistyrax's attention on himself he motions for everyone else to run.

(how can they run with him pinning them down?)

mhantra snarles back at malistyrax enduring the blast "im not bowing down to these, i've trained them to be my loyal subjects" he bluffs he brings his face into magine's "isnt that right, servant"

"y-y-y-yes sir" magine plays along

"and this one" mhantra turns to mira "she may not talk but she does clean the flesh out from between my claws like no other"

Mira bit her lip, trying not to do anything to give Mhantra's bluff away. It may be too late for this... Zanek's comment has probably already ruined it, and I'm not going to just leave if this dragon wants to hurt any of us. She just stood there, looking nervous.

Max's eyes started to glow. I really don't want to start another fight... That's all we've been doing...

"You take me for a FOOL!" Malistyrax roars, using the burnt spikes on his tail for a club, which he uses to smash Mhantra across the snout. "I will make them watch as I slay you, the betrayer of our kind, and then one by one I will slaughter your friends!"

Zanek rushes at Malistyrax with his claymore, but he gets punted across the chamber, landing in a heap.

A faint voice whispers in Mira's ear. Quickly downstairs, find the demon raider who has a golden lantern, it is the only way to rescue your friends.

Mira gave a small start at the whispering voice, but quickly took off running down the stairs as she was told. Taking the words of strange voices for granted... I sure hope this ends well. She got to the bottom of the stairs and looked around as she tried to catch her breath. I hope this golden lantern is with a demon raider that is already dead. I don't want to have to fight another one alone!

mhantra lunges at malistyrax, biting down on his neck and blasts him with a stream of ice

Max continued to struggle, but he couldn't become free of Malistyrax's claw. His glove shone brightly and a blue light covered Max. A brief flash of blue lit the entire room. Malistyrax's claw lifted and Max escaped. Or what is now Max.

"Dragon, do you wish to be the last one to fall of your kind?" said the dragoon. About ten feet away, he stuck out his new lance and started to create an orb of NX at the end of it that grew bigger and bigger.

A glint of gold is visible beneath a cluster of dead demon raiders.

"I stand, and all others fall before me!" Ice builds on Malistyrax's burnt scales, but causes no harm. He turns and bites onto Mhantra's wing, and as he turns he lashes at Dragoon and Magine with his tail.
