Far in the future, nearly three hundred years the world is a different place. 'Government' is a novel term, that has been replaced by corporation. The corporations have given themselves the divine right to rule the world. 'Modern' civilization only exists high above the polluted ground, in cities that extend into the sky. Even in these places most people live in sub-par slum apartments only allowed up there to perform menial labor for corporations. Corporate employees above a laborer live in progressively better accomidations, especially a CEO (they live in a fortified palace). In the area that was once Megalopolis the shining Babylon of corporate cities exists.

Several corporations have footholds, but Strikamax holds power over the others thanks to its Chim/Ed genetic engineering and cybernetic technologies. Demise Inc, and SA Enterprises also have some control over their sections, but they are still dominated by Strikamax.

This begins the story. Metahumans have been extinct for nearly three hundred years, but their reemergance has prompted a corporate war to collect and analyze them. Here we meet our characters, Nyssa Archenfold, Brett Destrin, and Nitrous Devon are the latest captures by Kabuto on commission from Demise Inc's CEO.

Currently they are held in seperate cells, but each cell consists of a series of projectors that trap the its occupant in a box made out of light where they are not actually able to touch the walls, floor, or cieling.

Nyssa sighed. It was bound to happen sooner or later. Yeesh, a group of idiots finds out who's a metahuman and who's not, and suddenly the whole world is out to get you. She looked around, then made up her mind. Well, I am certainly not going to sit around here forever. Time to get out of here. Raising her voice, Nyssa called out. "Hey! Any idiots around here? I want my one phone call!"

((I know the names suck, but there are reasons some names suck, real reasons other than me not making sense))

"If I want something I'll just take it," a man says voice says. A figure wearing a full suit of plate armor, and a blue cloak exits an elevator. "Now tell me what powers do you all have so I don't have to waste time performing painful experiments on you."

"Why should I tell you?" Nyssa asked, using the tone of voice she usually reserved for the drunkards she played poker with. "All I see are cage walls and maltreatment ahead, either way. And if I don't tell, maybe I'll get lucky and escape before you have a chance to find out."

Devon was having a rough and boring day. He does practically nothing and ends up in a cell for it. He felt for his core to find he was finally back up to strength. His mecha suit was online, and his spare light sword was still attatched to his leg. Now how to get out... Might as well see if anyone else does the work for me.

Bret ignores everything around him. wile he tries to forcefully break out of the cell by either trying to smash his 'hoverboard' through the light box, and throwing his energy orbs at them. "let me out of here you bastards!"

"I can see none of you will be willing participants, and I was so hoping you would cooperate. Well if at least one of you yields good data it will be worth it. Prepare them for analysis, DNA, Brain, and Molecular structure included, for Demise hath spoken!" Demise then exits the lab via the same elevator he entered from.

"bite me!" bret responds, still trying to bash his way out. "when i get out of here i'll make you pay for what you did to my parents"

Nyssa rolled her eyes. "Neh neh neh... 'Demise hath spoken'..." Her tone was mocking. Looking over at the other two, Nyssa called over. "Hey. Don't say what you can do aloud, 'cause there may be microphones, but if you can get free, now's the time."

"they already know what i can do" bret says wile falling to his knees in exhaustion. "any ideas on how to break out of here?"

"Why do you think I'm asking you?" Nyssa sighed and looked around. "How does this tech cage work? Is there a button to release it or what?"

Devon spoke in a low monotone. "Tell me your powers so I can think." I can't manipulate this cage... oh well. The maker has to be dull in some way.

((Do you guys need a jumpstart?))

((Well, I was expecting a jailer to come by and I'd make him drop the keys or give away the way to open the cage or something... yeah, a jumpstart would be nice. It's hard to tell what kind of tech we are dealing with.))

"I just told you we shouldn't say them aloud," Nyssa responded to the monotonous request.
